River Jazz & Blues Band or colloquially River Band

River Band was born in 1971 in West Jutland, with musicians living in Lemvig and Holstebro.

The orchestra was named after the Storåen, which flows on those banks.

River Band has toured faithfully every year, without a break since 1971, both in Denmark and abroad.

River Band is known for his varied and colorful style – a mixture of awareness of tradition and the ability to surprise. Presence and commitment are paramount with this original West Jutland band.

River Band's performance is created by the musicians' shared inspiration - as well as the desire to get the audience talking, with beloved classics, elegant arrangements and inciting dance rhythms.

Many songs, melodies and arrangements in River Band are made by the orchestra's trumpeter, harmonica player, leader and founder, Torben Lassen. Several of these tracks have become classics, at venues throughout the country.

The River Band plays today, a spicy mix of jazz, blues, Latin and spirituals.
