Downhill Bluegrass Band is one of Sweden's most prominent and respected bluegrass bands. They are highly regarded both here in Europe and in the USA, where they have done several tours. They have been invited and performed at the IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) in Nashville several times due to their excellent playing skills, unique sound and songwriting. In addition to America, Downhill has played in several European countries.

Most of the material is written by Jonas Kjellgren and Christoffer Olsson and their music has been recorded by well-known American and European Bluegrass artists. In addition to self-written material, Downhill also plays traditional Bluegrass, both instrumental and with the three-part vocals that are so specific to the genre.

With singers and songwriters of the highest international class, the band constantly explores new musical paths, but with roots deeply rooted in the traditional Bluegrass crowd. With a full instrumental line-up consisting of fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin and double bass, Downhill delivers everything from traditional hardcore bluegrass, instrumental equilibrism, interpretations of songs that lie outside the traditional Bluegrass groove and the self-written material with which Downhill achieved great success.
