The story of us:
An agency with roots dating back to 1966.
The agency was established in 1985 under the name SL Management Aps in close collaboration with HM Management Aps. HM Management Aps originated from the former agency Helweg-Mikkelsen & Co, which was established in 1980 by the singer, bassist and booker Thomas Helweg-Mikkelsen, the Shubiduas Kim Daugård & Willy Petersen and the Nation Wide Band drummer Hans Simonsen.
Helweg-Mikkelsen & Co 1966-1985
Thomas Helweg, who since 1974 – yes actually all the way back to 1966, had been involved in booking artists, and Hans Simonsen was responsible for the daily operation of the old Shubidua studio "Soundtrack's" premises on Gammel Kongevej in Copenhagen, which Helweg- Mikkelsen & Co bought from Claus Asmussen and Ole Hansen, to focus on an intensive booking activity of national as well as international artists.
Agreements were entered into with the Danish names of the time, including Kim Larsen, Halberg-Larsen, Bifrost, Lone Kellermann, the girl group Design, Denmark's no 1 funk group Survivors, Michael Hardinger's solo projects and a little Shubidua, Svend Asmussen and a host of lesser known Danish names. The International Artist Representation featured among a host of other foreign names, B.B. King, Fats Domino, The Hollies, Bo Diddley, Sally Oldfield, The Swinging Blue Jeans, The Searchers, The Dooleys, Toots & the Maytalls, The Pretty Things, The Troggs and Link Wray, as well as many other foreign names.
SL Management Aps from 1985
Helweg-Mikkelsen & Co ceased in 1985, and Thomas Helweg started his own agency HM Management ApS with new partners, including SL Management Aps.
A more international profile was added, however, so that Thomas Helweg still worked as manager for Bifrost and booking agent for Kim Larsen. International partners in the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Italy brought the company into rapid expansion.
